 I started the Yellow Label Kids collection after leaving a corporate job in New York City for San Francisco, to become a full-time mother and part-time teacher. My son and many students inspired me to look for an alternative to mass-produced, commercial toys and clothing. I looked for items that would celebrate the beauty and simplicity of childhood, as well as the individual spirit of each of our children.
In my search, I was fortunate to connect with groups of artisans in different countries, mostly mothers themselves, who earn real living wages from the handcrafts they produce. My son enjoys the engaging and special products made by these artists and I love to see his imagination sparked by toys that are simple, natural and exquisitely crafted.
The Yellow Label Kids collection was born in the San Francisco Bay Area, with the mission of continuing to reach other parents who wish to provide their children with toys and clothing that are unique, inspired and beautifully crafted.
